In order to help this firm get back to work while they waited on support from Dell, we began restoring their data access using a local backup and disaster recovery (BDR) appliance that we had previously installed.
We booted up a recent backup of their host server on the appliance and brought all five servers back online. This allowed their staff to get back to work for the remainder of that business day and the next day, even while Dell resolved the server issue.
After Dell had fixed their server the next morning, we continued to run their systems off the BDR appliance. Once the business day had ended, we then moved all their data to the newly fixed server without interrupting their processes.
